Abstract

The Department of Clinical Psychology was found at the School of Medicine in 2011 to achieve its prime objectives of teaching and research in the field of clinical psychology. Since 2012, in addition to educating postgraduate students, all Undergraduate medical sciences students have been taught in the school. About 60 research projects and near 70 researches published in fairly reputable domestic and international journals are the members’ considerable accomplishments. At that time, the institute specialized in psychosomatic disorders in the community, with a focus on education. The institute established research projects and appropriate treatment. The center is backed by the Health Technology Center of the Vice Chancellor for Research of Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Kashan, Iran. To attain the general objective of research in psychosomatic medicine and other mental fields with emphasis on contextual behavioral approach, this department aimed at empowering students in counseling and psychology, research in psychosomatic fields, and utilization of the most recent scientific findings and practical concepts.
