Abstract

Solvent type and solution viscosity are of great importance in affecting different traits of the electrospun scaffolds. This study aims to highlight the effect of different solvents on physicomechanical properties of PGS/PCL blend electrospun scaffolds. The PGS:PCL (2:1) blends were dissolved in five different solvent systems including DMF, DCM, DMSO, CF-AC, and CF-EtOH, with the final concentration of 18 w/v. Analyzing morphology indicated a more uniform fiber diameter and smaller pore size in PGS/PCL//CF-AC scaffolds. Also, the mechanical parameters were improved by the solvent upon using CF-AC more than DMF, correlated to better solution viscosity, spinnability and uniform fiber distribution.
