Colocalization of Vitiligo and Lichen Planus in a Young Man: Coincidence or Something Beyond That?

Abstract

Vitiligo and Lichen Planus are expected to coexist, but their colocalization is extremely rare. There are several theories regarding their immunopathogenesis connection. In this report, we report a thirty-five-year-old man without any medical, familial, or social history, who was presented with simultaneous lichen planus and vitiligo, both generalized at the time of observation and also concomitant throughout their entire course of progression. Lichen Planus Pigmentosous patches and vitiligo were located in both sun-exposed and non-exposed areas. Further extensive researches on larger scales seem warranted to propose any kind of theory regarding their interconnection.
