Abstract

Monitoring the alternation of drought and wet years in several recent decades could be helpful in determination and forecasting of drought trend in coming years. Therefore,this study has done to evaluate the drought alternation trend in Kermanshah city during several recent years by using statistical methods of standardized precipitation index (SPI).In this study the drought trend of all cities in Kermanshah province have evaluated in several recent years by SPI. The results showed that most of the evaluated cities in recent decades (except Eslamabad-e-Qarb) were faced with drought,in a way that in the mentioned cities the drought status in recent decades reach less than (near normal) form and even in some cities,during last 4-5 years’ reach (severely dry) and (extremely dry) form. However,it should be noted that in recent decade some exceptional status was exist such as Salas Babajani city (2014) and Javan Rood (2013) which were in desirable and wet status. According to the important results of this research,it could have concluded that without considering the fluctuation,generally the drought in Kermanshah in recent decades have a significant reduction in comparison with the last period of time and there is a need for more research (in relation with the major factor of this phenomenon causing). In addition to it,for reducing the harmful effect of drought,the necessary measurement must have taken in this field,which the most important of them is the appropriate management of water resources. © 2016,International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
