Abstract
A number of different cellular sources of neural stem cells have been identified. These sources include stem cells at the retinal margin, pigmented cells in the ciliary body and iris, non-pigmented cells in the ciliary body and Müller glia within the retina and also embryo and adult neural stem cells (NSCs). In the present review, we discuss the combinations of growth factors that are capable of stimulating the proliferation and making of neurons from stem cells, neural progenitors, non-neural epithelial cells, and postmitotic support cells. © 2015, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences(IUMS).
